New York 2018 Overview

10th International Workshop on Waldenström’s Macroglobulinemia [WM]
New York Marriott Downtown, New York, NY

October 11-13, 2018
WM Patient Conference, October 13-14, 2018

Attend the world’s most comprehensive hematology/oncology event on Waldenstrom’s macroglobulinemia, the 10th International Workshop on Waldenstrom’s macroglobulinemia (IWWM-10).

The IWWM-10 will be held from October 11th through October 13th, 2018 at the New York Marriott Downtown. The venue chosen for this meeting is one of New York City’s premier hotels, the New York Marriott Downtown Hotel and Conference center, situated in Lower Manhattan near Battery Park. The hotel nestles in one of the city’s most historic areas near Wall Street, the 9/11 Memorial Museum and One World Observatory. Online registration begins January 2018. Onsite registration and check-in will be available beginning on October 10, 2018.

The Workshop’s mission is to further the understanding, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disorders affecting the blood, bone marrow, and the immunologic system, by promoting targeted research, clinical care methods, education, training, and advocacy for Waldenstrom’s macroglobulinemia.

IWWM-10 will continue to support future research by including a Junior Investigator Poster presentation event with short oral presentations. Abstract submissions for plenary sessions and poster presentations are open and have a closing submission date of June 19, 2018.

Opening Ceremonies will take place on Thursday, October 11th on Ellis Island in the Great Hall. The ceremony will feature the presentations of the Junior Abstract Award winners, the R. Kyle Award and special guest lectures.

The Closing Ceremonies will take place on Saturday, October 13th, 2018 at the United Nations building in the delegates dining room. The ceremony will feature the presentation of the Waldenstrom Award and special guest lectures.

We expect this international Workshop to be as comprehensive as IWWM-9, with 15 sessions and over 75 scientific presentations.  Since the IWWM began in 2000, the number of participating international investigators has steadily grown to over 30 countries, and close to 6,000 publications including those created and developed from the IWWM Workshops. These publications have been published in the New England Journal of Medicine, Blood, Clinical Lymphoma Myeloma, Haematologica, Journal of Clinical Oncology, and other top publications.

IWWM-10 will continue the mission to enrich each attendee’s understanding and help foster discoveries and collaborations leading to more effective treatments and ultimately find a cure for Waldenstrom's macroglobulinemia.

We look forward to welcoming you to the Workshop!
